See who’s laying, and who stopped

Eggs per day, laying rate and your best day, with a best-layers leaderboard and a chart for each hen. When a hen goes quiet, you see it.

The Money screen: cost per dozen, eggs on hand, spending this month, egg sales and net cost

Know what a dozen really costs you (EggTally Pro)

  • Cost per dozen over 30 days, 90 days or all time
  • Sold, used or given away: an honest eggs-on-hand count
The Care screen: health notes for single hens and the whole flock, such as a bumblefoot treatment

Health notes, care reminders and hatching (EggTally Pro)

Keep a health log for one bird or the whole flock. Set repeating reminders for deworming, mite checks and coop cleaning, and follow a clutch with the hatch tracker’s day counter.

  • Reminders are scheduled on your iPhone
  • Hatch rate for every clutch you set
EggTally Settings: back up everything, restore from backup, and export or import a CSV spreadsheet

Bring your old spreadsheet

Import a CSV of daily egg counts (Date and Eggs, with an optional Hen column) or a bird list (Name, Breed, Hatch date) from a spreadsheet or another app. Import the same days again and they’re replaced, not doubled.

  • One-file backup, photos included, free
  • Export to Numbers or Excel with Pro
Three hens, two barred and one red, stepping out of their run

FAQ

Questions about EggTally

What is EggTally?

EggTally is a chicken egg tracker for iPhone. Log the day’s eggs in about ten seconds, by tapping + per egg or typing the total, and tap a hen to record who laid. It shows charts, a best-layers leaderboard and a chart per hen, and with Pro it turns your feed and supply costs into what a dozen eggs really costs you.

When can I get it?

EggTally is coming to the App Store in spring 2027. There is nothing to download yet; to hear when it is out, email hello@awlabs.dev and ask to be told at launch.

Is EggTally free?

It is free to download, and the free version keeps working with no time limit: the daily egg log for up to 10 birds in one flock, 7-day and 30-day charts, the leaderboard, the widget, iCloud sync, backup and CSV import. EggTally Pro is a single one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription. It adds unlimited birds and flocks, cost per dozen, expenses, egg sales, the health log, care reminders, the hatch tracker, longer history and CSV export.

Do I need an account? Where is my data?

No account and no sign-in. Your flock’s records are stored on your iPhone and synced through your own private iCloud database, so AW Labs has no server holding them and cannot see them. There are no ads and no tracking.

Which birds does it work for?

Chickens, ducks, quail, turkeys, geese and guinea fowl, with a built-in breed list for each. You can add a custom breed too.

Can I bring my spreadsheet?

Yes. Settings → Spreadsheets → Import reads a CSV file of daily egg counts (Date and Eggs columns, with an optional Hen column for per-hen counts) or a bird list (Name, Breed, Hatch date). Importing the same days again replaces them rather than doubling them.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone with iOS 17 or later. There is no iPad, Android or web version.
