Help with sync, backup, spreadsheet import and Pro

Email the developer

hello@awlabs.dev

EggTally is made by one person at AW Labs, and every message is read. It helps to mention your iPhone model, your iOS version and what you were doing when the problem happened. You can also write from inside the app: Settings → Email the developer.

Common questions

How does sync work?

EggTally syncs through your own iCloud account, in its private database (Apple CloudKit), to your other iPhones signed in to the same Apple ID. If a phone isn’t getting new records, open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud, and check that iCloud is turned on for EggTally. Records can take a minute to arrive.

How do I back up and restore?

In EggTally, open Settings → Backup and tap Back up everything. It makes one file with all your birds, eggs, expenses, notes and photos; save it to Files or send it wherever you like. To restore, choose Restore from backup in the same place and pick that file.

How do I import from a spreadsheet or another app?

Export your old log as a CSV file, then in EggTally open Settings → Spreadsheets → Import from a spreadsheet. For egg counts, use a Date column and an Eggs column, plus an optional Hen column for per-hen counts. For birds, use Name, Breed and Hatch date columns. Re-importing the same days replaces them rather than doubling them.

What’s in Pro?

Unlimited birds and flocks, cost per dozen and egg sales, the health log, care reminders, the hatch tracker, 90-day and 1-year charts, and CSV export. Pro is a one-time purchase with no subscription.

How do I restore my Pro purchase?

Open Settings → Restore purchase, signed in to the App Store with the Apple ID that bought it. Family Sharing is supported, so people in your Apple family group get Pro too.

What does the free version include, and what is the limit?

The free version keeps the daily egg log, charts for the last 30 days, the leaderboard, the widget, reminders, sync, backup and CSV import, with up to 10 birds in 1 flock. Birds that have left the flock, such as rehomed or passed away, don’t count toward the 10. Adding an 11th bird or a second flock needs Pro.

Refunds

Purchases are made through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
